Switch them if you like. In my mind (only a personal preference), I try to put original stories or interviews in "Featured" and leave them til we have new orginal stuff. You could also make the Aids Day story the Main Lead, since the Russia story won't be really big news until the results come in. Re: David Hicks Released From Yatala

I actually did upload the picture on David Hicks being released into the Commons area but I was not sure how to embed the image into the Hicks Released From Yatala article. Hence the image has been uploaded twice. Yes I did take the picture and on reducing the size of the image also decided to remove any exif data from the jpeg. Looking at other image contribution my 550K file size was very modest and probably could have left it in its original ~3MB size. I guess storage space isn't an issue for the wiki group. --Pthornton 15:38, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

I see that you just re-uploaded the file here on Wikinews. I think perhaps I wasn't clear enough. The file should be uploaded on Wikimedia Commons, which is a part of the Wikipedia family where free media can be uploaded and shared throughout the Wikimedia projects. You may have to create a user account there before uploading the image. Sorry for any confusion! File size isn't an issue there, so go ahead and upload the 4 Meg file. Archive template

Hi again. The {{Archive}} template asks users/editors to go to WN:AAA if there is a correction/edit needed. They can either add it there or (if they read closely) learn that they can add {{Editprotected}} on the collaboration page. Well, I hope you're not surprised ... but I think that it is a good change. The only reason I didn't leap forward and do it right away was the warning about load on the servers. Though I am not sure that is a legitimate concern for a project of our size. I noticed the article is on the main page (thanks, btw) under my old headline, but links to the moved article. Will this auto-update (had I just waited two [f]ing minutes) or is there some special Admin voodoo required?

With regard to the non-url source, I think the formatting is okay, but there may be some concerns with verifiability (see the Wikinews source page). Where did that source come from? Was it print? Refresh, damn, the number of times that's caught me... Anyway, yes, the "Adelaide Advertiser" source was print, I got the HSBC quote there plus Turnbull's bleeting. I've applied the category to a selection of these articles - but not all. I moved the discussion from Admin alerts to the category talk page and flagged it. Thanks - I've been busy both with IRL business and with other Wikimedia projects - but thought I'd pop back in here. Still every bit as obstinate that WN needs to have a way for accredited reporters to release interviews into the Public Domain though - before I'll publish any on here ;) Anyways, I'll try to stick around and at least tidy up existing articles - while using accredition to continue getting photo opportunities for WN and the rest of the WMF projects. Can you not see that they are only exploring the possibility of building a computer capable of doing this. Firstly, they are not doing it, only exploring it at this point.
