Edit counts

Doing not too bad on the edit count there, prompted me to look at mine and I've finally passed Amgine. --Brian McNeil / talk 19:17, 14 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. It'll probably be a long way till I get close to your edits! FellowWikiNews (W) 20:26, 14 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Audio Wikinews

Looking forward to hearing you upload, if I can help let me know.--Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 13:41, 16 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

I can't seem to open your upload using the Java Player...--Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 16:59, 16 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
I made a couple of mistakes in the recording. Does that mean I should re-record it? FellowWikiNews (W) (sign here!) 20:51, 16 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
No, I make mistakes all the time because I'm not a native speaker... you can still link it, but if you don't want to you should remove it from the Audio Wikinews page. I could listen to it if you still doubt :-).--Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 19:06, 17 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
I will remove it from the AW page. FellowWikiNews (W) (sign here!) 23:49, 17 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Greenville Arson Article

Thanks for your review on this article. This is my first article on Wikinews and I was surprised to see it make it through so quickly with a minimal of editing. Thanks again! Rob 02:37, 17 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

You're welcome! FellowWikiNews (W) (sign here!) 23:53, 17 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Had incorrect copyright data. It should have been Crown copyright. (Canadian government, unlike the USA (which kinda sucks as its the one sane thing they do) doesn't release everything under the sun into PD). Bawolff 00:49, 26 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

I copyied the source info from Wikipedia. I guess they will have to change it to Crown copyright too. FellowWikiNews (W) (sign here!) 01:27, 26 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image:Santa arrest.JPG

I'm assuming this came from somewhere in uncyclopedia, but the image at wikinews doesn't have any source, and breaking news doesn't apply to non-article images, So it might have to be deleted unless it gets a source+copyright Bawolff 03:29, 28 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

I found the source but I'm not sure about the copyright :( Please help... FellowWikiNews (W) (sign here!) 17:01, 28 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

'Bridezilla' YouTube video: fake or real?

The little bit of heat you're taking on this story sort of begs the question of what protocal will be observed in making decisions about what remains and the MainPage, and what does not, when and if the story count gets so large that the MainPage can't encompass it. -Edbrown05 06:47, 1 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Youtube article

You screwed nothing up on Wikinews...It was just an article. Not a big deal. I am not gonig to hold it agianst you at all. DragonFire1024 22:34, 1 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Chill

Relax on the "wiggy" article, I can see you want rid of it but that isn't going to happen in a hurry due to wiki-inertia. The way the article was worded worked, most people took the time to check the video link, it was just watching that stupid tart giving herself a DIY haircut that made us all want to delete her with prejudice. --Brian McNeil / talk 22:47, 1 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Seriously, since there has been a lot of complaints on the talk page the article should be deleted. FellowWikiNews (W) (sign here!) 23:18, 1 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Don't beat yourself up! I've had a load of articles deleted for copyvio in my early days as a Wikinewsie. I think what people were trying to say was that it seemed like advertising. It was still written fine, though! --Thunderhead - (talk) 03:42, 2 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Well, thanks... FellowWikiNews (W) (sign here!) 20:26, 2 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
just wanted to add to the chorus of don't worry too much about it. you did nothing wrong, sometimes differences of opinion happen. Bawolff 03:28, 3 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I understand that. Also, I think the article is fine now after I fixed it. FellowWikiNews (W) (sign here!) 03:29, 3 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Do you really get paid? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Club2007 (talkcontribs) Thunderhead

No, I just gave that to him as a joke, because I used his userpage design on my own. --Thunderhead - (talk) 19:14, 3 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Lol. But I would really love to get paid! Especially from Thunderhead: the userpage copyright violator! FellowWikiNews (W) (sign here!) 19:36, 3 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Shhh! It's a derivative work. ;-) --Brian McNeil / talk 19:50, 3 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Lol. Actually, I like that he copyied my user page. It feels good :) But that does not mean that he can copy it, etc... FellowWikiNews (W) (sign here!) 19:54, 3 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Well, unless I misread our license, I have the legal right to copy it :P --71.80.53.227 20:12, 3 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
That was me unlogged. Sorry --Thunderhead - (talk) 20:13, 3 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Superbowl/Super bowl

Should this article be renamed re spelling?? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Markie (talkcontribs) 22:27, 7 February 2007

Yes. I renamed the article to Colts win Super Bowl XLI. The article on Wikipedia uses Super Bowl, not Superbowl. FellowWikiNews (W) (sign here!) 22:34, 7 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Ok, cheers--Markie 09:33, 8 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Offensive user name

Does the new user:Dickfacejones count as an offensive username suffeictntly for a block??--Markie 22:08, 8 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes. FellowWikiNews (W) (sign here!) 22:10, 8 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
I blocked him/her for an expiry time of indefinite. He/she should be able to create an account with a better username, if they want to. FellowWikiNews (W) (sign here!) 22:18, 8 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

User:FellowWikiNews/Guestbook/w/index.php

Should that perhaps be added to the protected deletions list? Bawolff 23:16, 15 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well, the above page was only created once along with User talk:FellowWikiNews/Guestbook/w/index.php?title=User:FellowWikiNews/Guestbook/w/index.php and User talk:FellowWikiNews/w/index.php?title=User:FellowWikiNews/w/index.php. The ips that are creating these pages are probably bots. So, yes... In this case I would add them to protected deletions. FellowWikiNews (W) (sign here!) 23:25, 15 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Help

Need help in understanding why you deleted my discussion article. I placed it in the discussion spot because I thought that is where you can discuss things. Where should it go? thanks Molly Sawyer 16:32, 26 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

I deleted your editorial because talk pages (or discussion pages) are used to contact users, etc. I would recomend that you add your story to User:Molly Sawyer/Opinions or User:Molly Sawyer/Editorials. Thanks and happy editing Wikinews. FellowWikiNews (W) (sign here!) 20:34, 26 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
