Georgia (country)

There is nothing about Georgia since 2019, I think it needs some political updates--ჯეო (talk) 13:10, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@ჯეო: Volunteers write about things they like -- if you would like to, feel free to write about Georgia.

@Acagastya: Yes I have experience of this, I am administrator of Georgian Wikinews (Wn/ka in Incubator) but I wanted to see activity from other users too :)--ჯეო (talk) 13:59, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@ჯეო: right now, I don't think we have someone who writes about various different themes like how I used to -- most have a domain they are focusing on. Xbspiro often attempts writing local news, and indeed it would be better, but until then, if you get time to, please feel free to -- I will be available for review.

Consider starting a draft, so maybe someone could build on it. Do it timely and I can then review it.
•–• 12:44, 17 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I'd rather not write a draft on this. Don't really feel like writing right now. 98.10.48.24 (talk) 12:48, 17 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Covid Vaccine During Fasting in Ramadan Does Not Break Your Fast explains Islamic thinker Raamish Siddiqui

July 21, 2021

Covid Vaccine During Fasting in Ramadan Does Not Break Your Fast:

The month of Ramadan is going on. In this holy month, every believing Muslim worships God with great devotion and observes fast as per rules. In such a situation, in the midst of the crisis of the Corona period, when people are being vaccinated against Covid all over the world, one question which is coming to the minds of the fasting Muslims is whether they can take the Covid vaccine while observing their fast. And will it not break their fast?

Responding to this question, Islamic thinker and writer Raamish Siddiqui said that he himself has taken the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine during fasting. He said that “The fasting cannot be broken by getting the Covid-19 vaccine because it is administered intramuscularly, so the fasting person is allowed to take this vaccine.

Raamish said that “The person observing the fast is not allowed to take food, water or medicine through the mouth, nose etc. or through the vein.” He further said that if anyone gets an opportunity to get vaccinated, then he should absolutely not miss this opportunity and go ahead for vaccination but only after consulting his doctor.

Raamish Siddiqui says that in Islam, it is the duty of a person to protect not only his own life and health but also to protect the life and health of other members of the society as this is also a part of religion.

@Acagastya: Q10 in meta:Wikimedia_Foundation_elections/2021/Candidates/CandidateQ&A. Leaderboard (talk) 07:58, 4 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

┌─────────────────────────────────┘
@Leaderboard: this page is for requesting creation and writing of news articles. Does Xeno want enwn to cover this election on Wikinews? (Hence the question) Or is it something the community would be interested in knowing. Then it belongs to water cooler, not here.
•–• 08:18, 4 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Acagastya, Leaderboard: The suggestion was that a news article could be written about the election/candidates/campaign period. My thought is that it is newsworthy as a movement-wide event (in fact I could see an article being used as a source by other news outlets reporting on these elections as well). That said, I would defer to local consensus on subject inclusion. (I've placed a user-facing announcement at the water cooler.) Xeno (WMF) (talk) 10:35, 4 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Xeno (WMF): Thank you for bringing this to our attention. If one or more Wikinewsies wishes to cover the election, the main provisos are they should avoid navel gazing. Otherwise there is no objection to preparing for and covering the election. However, the review of such an article(s) would necessarily have to be more stringent than usual. --Green Giant (talk) 12:06, 4 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • If I was a bit more knowledgeable on Canadian politics, I might write this article myself, but I'm a bit busy with a few other stories as it stands, and I don't think I know enough about Canada's situation to do this justice. --LivelyRatification (talk) 05:43, 16 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Quercetin quickly cures COVID symptoms

September 14, 2021

So far, the only weapon being deployed in the COVID pandemic are vaccines made against the spike protein of the alpha variant, or heat-inactivated whole virus (the Chinese vaccine). These vaccines limit illness from the delta variant, the most prevalent viral strain currently. But unvaccinated individuals are still at risk for catching the delta variant and dying at the 2% infection fatality rate (IFR) seen with COVID.

A safe, effective treatment would allow a person to safely catch the virus and develop natural immunity. Recent studies in Israel and Cleveland, OH confirm that natural immunity to COVID is longer lasting than vaccine-induced immunity, as has always been the case.

Quercetin is a plant flavonoid present in red onions, apples, capers and grapes. It is a mast cell stabilizer, and rapidly cures COVID symptoms (1). An unpublished consecutive case series of about 100 high-risk adults responded quickly to 0.5-1 g twice a day of quercetin.

The one source you've provided for this article appears to be over a year old. Claiming that something "rapidly cures COVID symptoms" is a statement that should not be made lightly, and definitely not solely off one source. If this article is to be made, newer sources will likely be needed, and less firm wording. We can't really write an article just on a report from one year ago. Maybe we could interview the report's writers, or find more recent studies? --LivelyRatification (talk) 20:38, 14 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
